The Greater Gator
*Ahem*
In the heat of an intense debate I had with my boy Aldo, I promised that if the Florida Gators won it all, not only would I admit that I was wrong and that Florida is the better team; but I'd also post it on my blog for the world to see.
Sadly, I'm a man of my word.
After Florida feasted on the then-number 1 rated Ohio State Buckeyes, I have to tip my hat to Aldo and all of the Gator nation; as much as I hate it. I was amazed at how stifling Florida's defense was; shutting down one of the country's most potent offensive attacks. Now, you could argue that OSU lost because one of their most important players, Ted Ginn Jr. was hurt. You can also argue that having almost two months off made the team rusty. And you'd be correct. But, let's not rule out the fact that Florida was completely and inexcusably dominant in this game.
Interestingly, this blowout proves that the BCS system can get it right sometimes.
...even if it also gets it wrong.
I'm still remaining faithful to my beloved Wolverines. I still think that the BCS raped us by not putting us in the championship game in the first place. But after we got smacked around by USC, and after Florida's impressive thumping of Ohio State (to whom we lost), Florida is no-doubt the better team. I didn't say the "best" team; considering that an undefeated Boise State didn't even get the chance at playing for the national title (if anything, their undefeated record should've given them a shot at OSU above Florida and...as much as I don't like to admit it...Michigan).
But, the purpose of this post is not to spout or complain about what should've or could've happened. This post is to declare to the world that Aldo's Gators are the best team in college football.
OK. That's done. Does anybody have the number to a good therapist?

Man, just because we (Michigan) lost to OSU doesn't mean we should be hating on them. I thought they played a good game (for a bunch of sissified losers). I mean, they did their best (to bribe officials)and in the end it's how you play (like cripples) and not whether you win or not.( which is what they tell their alumni). OHIHOS.
Truth be told, I was actually rooting for OSU. According to most folks who don the Maize and Blue, that kind of blasphemy is punishable by stoning. But if it came down to OSU or the team that was playing IN OUR PLACE, my support for the enemy prevailed.
All the more reason why I'm pissed that Florida won.

But, all the controversy aside; Florida came, saw, and kicked some Buckeye a**. No denying that.
Congratulations for taking advantage of the moment (never mind that the "moment" was handed to you on a silver platter...).
Well, Florida is my SEC partner, so you know who I was going for.
Next year, though it'll be all about the Bulldogs!
I stick to my guns. Tell your Gator people that the Bruins said "You're welcome".
If it hadn't been for my Bruins beating USC, Florida would've been off somewhere losing to Boise State or something.

but yes i really do appreciate the fact that your defense maned up on those punks from southern Cal. You have to tip your hat to them on that one cuase southern cal is a top 2 program that reloads just like miami used to do back in the late ninties till 2001. I see them as the gators biggest obstacle next year. Michigan needs to get out of the big ten, where the competition sucks. Sorry Dre but its the truth.
PS. that silver plater will look even nicer with the basketball and football national titles sitting on it...
