An inaudible voice

One of my favorite songs; "God is speaking" from Mandisa's debut album "True Beauty". You best believe I will be coppin’ this album pretty soon.

Have you ever heard a love song that set your spirit free?
Have you ever watched a sunrise and felt you could not breathe?
What if it's Him? What if it's God speaking?

Have you ever cried a tear that you could not explain?
Have you ever met a stranger who already knew your name?
What if it's Him? What if it's God speaking?

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us?
Get our attention to prove He is enough.
He'll do and He'll use whatever He wants to.
To tell us “I love you.”

Have you ever lost a loved one who you thought should still be here?
Do you know what it feels like to be tangled up in fear?
What if He's somehow involved?
What if He's speaking through it all?

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us?
Get our attention to prove He is enough.
He'll do and He'll use whatever He wants to.
To tell us “I love you.”

His ways are higher, His ways are better.
Though sometimes strange;
What could be stranger than God in a manger?

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us?
Get our attention to prove He is enough.
He'll do and He'll use whatever He wants to.
To tell us “I love you.”

God is speaking “I love you.”

Clearly, she's also able to find God in unusual places.

I absolutely LOVE Mandisa's music. How Taylor Hicks won the season five competition, I'll never understand.

Anyway, I saw her on Regis and Kelly. She was amazing then also. I'm getting her CD this weekend. I can't wait!

I just downloaded this song on iTunes. It's a winner and a powerful testimony to God's prescence in the world.

Thanks for getting me hip to this song!

Man! It's an incredible thing when a person whom I've never met can take my thoughts and my experiences and put them together in a song like this. Or a poem. Or a movie. Or a painting. Or anything else.

God truly is Awesome! Thanks for the post, brother.

I'm not sure if I ever heard of this Mandisa and I don't tend to follow American Idol all that much, but I love the lyrics to this song. If she's anything like Cynthia says I'll have to give her a try. Plus I trust your sense of music. I've heard of some great artists just by coming to your page. Corinne Bailey Rae, Sean Dietrich, Joann Rosario, and now Mandisa.

Hmmm, have to check her out!

i love mandisa and her music.

your post made me think of balaam and how God spoke thru his mule to him. was the only way He could get balaam's attention. shows God can speak thru whomever and however He wishes. we just have to be in tune.

i'm never upset when people get voted off of american idol, even if i think they should be the winner, because God is so in control of their lives. sometimes, i think they have more freedom not being the american idol winner.

@ Cyn: I didn't really follow her on Idol. I don't really watch it much after all the funny auditions. But I also saw her Regis and Kelly (Hmmm. You and I were both playing hooky from work maybe?). But one of my colleagues on campus has her CD. I heard it; especially this song, and fell in love. This song touched me deeply.

@ Saved: "Man! It's an incredible thing when a person whom I've never met can take my thoughts and my experiences and put them together in a song like this. Or a poem. Or a movie. Or a painting. Or anything else."

I concur. Thanks Rob.

@ Joanne: "...I trust your sense of music."

Thanks!

@ Jos: I think you'll like her.

@ Sylvia: "your post made me think of balaam and how God spoke thru his mule to him. was the only way He could get balaam's attention. shows God can speak thru whomever and however He wishes. we just have to be in tune."

Good point. Maybe sometimes when we shut our eyes/ears/hearts to the 'conventional' ways we hear from God (whatever those might be), God uses unorthodox ways to get our attention. After all, if God is everywhere, does it mean just that?

I'm sorry about the broken link. I can't seem to figure out how I lost that entire post. I'm bummed out about it. It was one of my favorites. Really sorry! :(

Happy Birthday Syliva!

...with ya old ass! :)

Sorry again about the link. My blog has been doing some odd things lately. A few of my archived posts have broken links and my "Recent Comments" widget doesn't work. I can't tell why I seem to have a wardrobe malfunction on my site. But I'll get to the bottom of this.

Eventually. :)
